Hanuman Chalisa - Telugu

A Devotional Hymn in Praise of Lord Hanuman

About Hanuman Chalisa

Hanuman Chalisa is a powerful devotional hymn originally composed by Tulsidas in praise of Lord Hanuman. It praises Hanuman's strength, devotion, and selfless service to Lord Rama. The Telugu translation of this Chalisa by the Late Shri M.S. Rama Rao retains the original essence while adapting it beautifully for the Telugu-speaking community.

The Hymn Describes

Hanuman's divine birth and immense powers. His absolute devotion to Lord Rama, his role as a faithful messenger, and his unshakable loyalty. Hanuman's heroic deeds, such as crossing the ocean, finding Sita in Lanka, and setting Lanka on fire, all of which to aid Lord Rama. His significant contribution in the battle against Ravana, displaying wisdom, courage, and strength.

The divine blessings received by those who recite the Hanuman Chalisa—gifting strength, protection, courage, and removing fear and obstacles.

Unique Telugu Version

However, it is important to note that while Shri M.S. Rama Rao's Telugu version remains deeply faithful to the original Hanuman Chalisa, the composition differs slightly. Notably, this version includes two additional Hanuman Stotras that were not part of the original Chalisa. These Stotras were provided by Shri B. Ravindranath, the Late Grandfather of the composer/singer B. Harikrishna. These two verses were passed down to Harikrishna, and form an integral part of this unique version.

This translation has now become a cherished devotional piece in Telugu homes, offering a blend of traditional reverence and melodic beauty that resonates with devotees.
